Timer functions:  You only set it for summer mode and winter mode and the unit does the rest.  As follows:

• June 1 to Sept. 15:    Summer mode
• Sept 15th to Dec. 1:  Slowly times down
• Dec. 1st to Feb. 15:  Winter Mode
• Feb. 15 to June1    :  Slowly goes back to summer mode.
